I think we should have a proper definition of "inferred" or "inferred 
type" (in italics).  (N3579 confuses things with lots of spurious uses of 
italics for non-definitions, but I think the sentence there that's meant 
as a definition is probably "When the placeholder type specifier appears 
as the only type specifier in a specifier-qualifier-list, it designates an 
inferred type.".)
