Subject: New files (lots!) on the WG5 server
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

The WG5 anonymous ftp server at ftp.nag.co.uk/sc22wg5 has been updated to
contain both the latest version of the draft F95 document and all the
papers from the San Diego meeting (less a couple that I still haven't got
electronic versions of).

All documents that have not yet been distributed in paper form, that is
from N1135 onwards, are now in a sub-directory caled LATEST-DOCS. That
sub-directory contains a file called Index.txt which lists all the
documents available in LATEST-DOCS, together with three sub-directories
called Acrobat, PostScript and Text. Each of these sub-directories
contains documents between N1135 and N1167 in the appropriate format.
N1166 is the latest draft of the DIS and is a further sub-directory
containing the 22 files which make up the draft DIS. These are identical
to those made available as X3J3/007R2 apart from the title file, which has
the WG5 number and some additional information. The PostScript versions
have been edited to allow them to print on both A4 and US Letter size
paper.

All files are compressed in ZIP format, apart from the text files for
N1166, which are in the GZIP form provided by Richard Maine.

I would urge as many of you as possible to try the Acrobat versions as
these allow the documents to be displayed on the screen of a PC, Macintosh,
Sun, HP or SGI computer in exactly the same form as the PostScript version
will be printed, with the added advantage (apart from being viewed on
screen) that they can be searched, and text can be copied to other
documents if required. To view them you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader
for your computer. This is available, free-of-charge, from the Adobe ftp
site (ftp.adobe.com) or their world wide web pages (http://www.adobe.com),
which is better as it contains a lot more information about using Acrobat.
Readers will also be available on the WG5 server very shortly, but Adobe's
site seems to be too popular to download from during a weekday, so I'll
probably get them at the weekend. (They are freely distributable)

I shall be conducting a letter "ballot" on N1166 to confirm that the edits
have been correctly carried out. Details will be sent out in a couple of
days time.

No doubt the two US mirror ftp sites will have the complete set of files
very shortly.
