If memory serves 15 september 1996 is rosh hashana, which would make it
impossible for me (or other practicing jews, though if the committee
membership remains as is, that probably means me only ;>) to attend
the following x3j3 meeting (and would make my getting back to the US
in time somewhat problematic, I'd probably have to leave the meeting
thursday).

Moving it to the preceeding week makes it possible for me to attend
most of the J3 meeting, but two to three weeks earlier would be better
for me.

   a. What is the likelihood that you will be able to attend this
meeting, independently of the exact date?

I would be 99% sure of attending if it isn't a pessimal date ;>

   b. Will the proposed date make it impossible or more difficult
      for you to attend?

Difficult to impossible. However with a years warning I might be able
to train my replacement ;>

Would be fine. Business hotels for many large US cities are up in the
same range, so Management is used to approving it ;>
