Metcalf has just given a good listing of Fortran 90 compilers.

For C++ there is a compiler from GNU; for ADA95, which many consider
to be too big and too complex, there is the GNAT compiler. Would it
not be desirable/realizable to have a free compiler for Fortran, at
least one that runs before Fortran 2000 is released?
