X3J3 and WG5,

The Draft CD, X3J3 document 95-007r1, also known as WG5
document N1122, is now available on the NASA Dryden ftp
server.

(Kurt, I have also uploaded tar files of these into
x3j3/incoming on the ncsa server. Could you please move
them to the appropriate locations there).

The ftp server is ftp.dfrc.nasa.gov (130.134.64.17).
The 95-007r1 version is in the directory "pub/x3j3/95-007r1".
As with the previous working documents, it is available
in frame 4 binary format, postscript, and ascii. These
formats are in subdirectories named frame4, ps, and ascii.
Another subdirectory, named scripts, contains the scripts
used to generate the ps and ascii versions from the frame4
binary.

All the files are compressed with GNU zip. Use gunzip
to uncompress them.

The postscript version is sized for US paper (8.5 x 11 inches).
It can be made to print on A4 posctscript printers by manually
editing the postscript line that looks like

  1 1 0 0 612 792 0 1 6 FMDOCUMENT

to

  1 1 0 0 594.72 841.68 0 1 6 FMDOCUMENT

The number shown as 6 in this sample may vary. The result may
have narrow margins on A4 paper, but it should print.

In addition to the 95-007r1 version, the document in its wg5
form as document N1122 is in the directory "pub/x3j3/n1122".
Only the postscript form of the n1122 document is on the
ftp server. It is also sized for 8.5 x 11 inch paper.

There is generally no need to get both the 95-007r1 and the
n1122 versions. The *ONLY* differences between these versions
are

  1. The 95-007r1 version has change bars relative to 95-007r0,
whereas the n1122 version has no change bars. The change
bars are useful for internal committee use, but would just
     be confusing to public reviewers.

  2. The page headers and footers and the title page differ.

  3. There are *NO* differences in the text content or formatting.
Even the line numbers should be the same.
