There are several reasons, amongst which are my still unresolved job situation, and other personal considerations, as well as the demonstrated lack of interest from the Canadian Fortran community. Please remove me from the CPL mailing list. I will continue to maintain the Canadian Fortran email reflector until some other arrangement is made. At this time, I know of no-one who is either interested in or willing to take on the job as Chairman. Unfortunately, this means that Canada is unlikely to be represented in Tokyo. As well, Canada will no longer be represented on the WG5 management subcommittee.
