I understand that a formal letter ballot to confirm (or otherwise) the appointment has now been issued, and that the ballot will close on June 6th. SC22 member bodies have been getting rather lax over their voting in recent times and the new Secretariat (Bill Rhinehuls) has just announced that a similar ballot to appoint Keld Simonsen as project editor for a new WG20 project only received 3 votes - 2 of which were from countries not actively participating in WG20's work! Since Fortran is at a critical point in its evolution I would hope that, at least, all active participants in WG5 will vote when the time comes. (I'm not asking you to vote in any particular way, though it would be nice if it was supportive (:-), but rather to ensure that your national body does cast its vote and not just register apathy!)
