At the 2024 meeting, three prospective work items were "conditionally
accepted". INCITS/Fortran was requested to discuss these at a future
meeting to provide direction to WG5 - this happened at the February 2025
meeting in Berkeley. Given the abbreviated (and end-of-week) schedule
for the 2025 WG5 meeting, a request was made to provide INCITS/Fortran's
guidance and to ballot WG5 members on formally accepting the work items
so that development could start earlier.

I opened an ISO "working group consultation" ballot for this yesterday,
running through May 3. ISO emailed WG5 members about it using a message
with subject "ISO Electronic balloting portal - Ballot events". I've
since heard from several members who did not receive this notice - if
you are a WG5 member (includes J3 principals AND alternates), you should
be able to access the ballot at Conditionally accepted work items for
Fortran 202Y
<https://isotc.iso.org/livelink/eb3/part/exp/ballotAction.do?method=doView&id=504893>.
You will need an ISO login for this - I'm unsure what the process for
this is if you don't already have one. As I write this, five sets of
votes have been received, so the ballot is working. Keep in mind that at
the ISO level we are all "individual experts" and there is not a concept
of an organization vote.

If you didn't get the email and are a WG5 member, but have trouble
accessing the ballot using the link, please email me directly
(steve@stevelionel.com - don't reply to the mailing list.)
