At the public forum the following day, attended by 111 people, he gave a paper on 'An Enhanced procedural interface mechanism for extending Fortran' see https://wg5-fortran.org/N001-N1100/N003.pdf . As Jerry says, DEC were strongly opposed to the direction being taken for Fortran 90 and even gave out fliers at user group meetings saying: you don't need to have read the public review draft - just vote against. I'm glad Fortran survived at DEC (and at IBM who were also opposed). David
