Richard (Rich) Grove, who was the project lead for early DEC Fortran
compilers, including VAX FORTRAN, died peacefully on January 22. His
obituary is at Richard Grove Obituary
<https://memorials.blakefuneralhome.com/richard-grove/5542143/index.php>.

Rich was responsible for starting my career in Fortran, and I worked
closely with him through the decades until he retired from Intel in 2007.
His obit says he was a member of the Fortran standards committee, so some
of you may remember him - this would have been in the 1970s. I considered
Rich my mentor and I learned a lot from him. He was also a heck of a nice
guy!

Steve
