Thanks very much, Sally. I have checked the edits and find that edits 1 to 6
have mostly been done correctly. The deficiencies are very minor. I will send
you details if you wish, but I do not want them to be corrected.

Edit 7 was rejected. I accept this rejection, but would appreciate being told
the reason. A previous convener, Jeanne Martin, has given a plausible reason for
this being the second rather than the fourth edition:

According to their naming, it is the second - the second 1539-1. Fortran 95
was the first 1539-1. Fortran 77 and Fortran 90 were first and second
editions of 1539 [ without the -1]. I have ISO copies of F90 and F95 to
   verify this.

Edit 8 was rejected. I am not surprised since this would have involved sending
you a new pdf file. Again, I accept the rejection.

I find the lack of communication quite extraordinary.

So that's our new standard out of the door! Phew! But what about our TR? Would
it be a good idea to ask ISO for a target date, as specified in section 6.3.1.1
of the JTC1 Directives?

Thanks,

John.
