Meeting Notice and Draft Agenda, POSIX Advisory Group
=====================================================

To whom it may concern;
Please be advised that the Standards Council of Canada has graciously
invited ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 22/POSIX Advisory Group to hold a meeting February
21-24, 2006, in Ottawa, Ontario.

This meeting will be held in conjunction with meetings of The Open Group
base working group and IEEE PASC. Together with the PAG, these three
organizations are collectively known as "The Austin Group".
Please see www.opengroup.org/austin for further details.

A draft agenda is being prepared, but the primary focus of
this meeting is to consider the periodic revision of the 9945
International Standard, and will be considering:

 * Outstanding defect reports and Interpretation Requests that
   may require changes to the standard not permitted through
   the Technical Corrigenda Process (see document Austin/SD5).

 * New interfaces being submitted through the Open Group (the
   "strawman" interfaces document).

 * Possible areas where alignment with IS 23360 can be improved.

Further details, including hotel recommendations and actual venue, will
follow shortly. Teleconference facilities will be available for those unable
to attend in person. Meetings will run 9.00am to 5.00pm
EST daily, except for the final day when the meeting will conclude by
4.00pm. There may be evening breakout sessions for each individual
organization to meet independently. The POSIX Advisory Group plans to have
such a breakout session on Thursday, February 23, from 7.00pm until 9.00pm
if there are specific recommendations to be prepared for SC 22.

Documents for consideration at this meeting should be submitted to the chair
of the Austin Group, Mr Andrew Josey (ajosey@opengroup.org) before February
1, 2006.

Please RSVP to Andrew by the same date to indicate whether you plan
attend the meeting in person, or by teleconference. An electronic
sign-up sheet will be available at www.opengroup.org/austin shortly.

Thank you.
