Background to Resolution 10

Directions from JTC 1 Secretariat:

    Ken,

Once the ballot closes, the SC (in this case SC 34) is given
the responsibility to address ballot comments. With the BRM,
the SC 34 organizes and manages the meeting; with the scenario
I propose, the SC 34 NBs would receive the 30 day default
ballot. This is how it has been handled in all previous
    instances.

    Regards,
    Lisa

Since ODF, ISO/IEC 26300, received all yes votes and no no votes, ODF has meet all the requirements of the ISO/IEC Directives, 9.6. Since there are no ballots to be resolved pursuant to ISO/IEC Directives, 13.9, preparation of the Disposition of Comments report and the amended DIS have been assigned directly to Patrick Durusau, Project Editor for ISO/IEC 26300.

Section 13.5 provides (last sentence): In some cases the establishment of a ballot resolution group is unnecessary and the SC Secretariat can assign the task directly to the Project Editor.

Resolution 11: JTC 1/SC 34 Future Meetings

SC 34 approves the following tentative meeting schedule:

Date Location Group
August 3 - 6, 2006 Montréal, Canada WG3
August 6, 2006 Montréal, Canada WG1
October 12-15, 2006 Leipzig, Germany WG3
December 2 - 5, 2006 Boston, USA SC34 Plenary and WG1, WG2
(electronic participation invited from WG and NB members; details to follow)

SC34 requests that its WGs review their meeting requirements and communicate with the Secretariat.
